Hello do you know anything about breeding Russians I'm getting 1 male and 3 females. They will be 5 to 6 inches I know they need to be a little bigger. Should I buy the http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ators/-/zoo-med-reptibator-digital-incubator/ incubator or the http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ile-incubators/-/exo-terra-reptile-incubator/ incubator or any other suggestions? How long do they incubate? And what temperature? I know to bury the eggs half way in vermite. And what should I have in the the raising/brooding habitat? And how big should the baby cage be? And I know they lay 1-5 eggs. Thank you

Whoa! You are getting WAYYYY ahead of yourself. You might not see eggs for years. You might never see eggs, even if you do everything "right".

In an incubator they cook for about 60 days in the mid-80s. In some areas, they can be left in the ground to incubate "naturally".

Where are you? How are you housing them?

Tom is right. You need to sit back and do some research about keeping Russian tortoises happy and healthy, and learn what makes them tick before you worry about incubators. Its not like just add water and watch them grow.

Some females won't even think about reproducing if conditions aren't correct. Plus, you'll have much better success if you keep them in a large outdoor pen.
