Hi Tom and others I think it would be a fantastic idea if tom made a YouTube channel to help visualize the proper care for tortoises and hopefully help spread correct information.
Maybe you could make a channel with or without him and you can spread your and his valuable information.lol I’ve heavily hintedit’s not something he’s personally interested in doing currently but has said this;
“Yeah... Computers and editing and that sort of thing is not in my wheelhouse. Lots and lots of other talents and interests, but not that. Tortoise keeping and breeding, snakes and lizards, bee keeping, falconry, dog training, bird training, all other animal training, running my business with 6 employees to feed and their families, my own family and teenage daughter, scuba, shooting, dirt biking, jiu jitsu, farming tortoise foods to feed my herd, scrounging tortoise foods to feed my herd, etc... I wear a lot of hats each day.
This has come up many times over the years, along with "you should write a book", and I just don't have the time, know-how or interest in those things. I have so many hobbies and interests that there just isn't a lot of time for that sort of thing. Still, I'd make time if someone else had the equipment and technical knowledge. TFO is my book and YT channel to get my info out. People like you are welcome to use your free time and internet expertise to spread the word, and I hope you do. I can put the info here, and you can spread it across the internet universe.”
YouTube videos are quite tricky to do without the right equipment, but I did start a tiktok page for the forum, I share all its posts to the forums instagram page and I made my own personal tortoise pages too, feel free to check them outMaybe you could make a channel with or without him and you can spread your and his valuable information.

Tom is the one with actual hands on experience, along with a couple handfuls of other members. All else is just repeating what has been posted and proven by Tom or the handfuls of other experienced.Maybe you could make a channel with or without him and you can spread your and his valuable information.
Many better options out there than 2TT. His stance on private keeping, ESA listings, and his continued bad mouthing of good organizations has made me cut ties with Tom. I use to cohost his weekly show with him, that now no longer exists.2turtletom does podcasts. Had Will Espenshade and others on. Would love to see Tom on as a guest.
Interesting take. I know 2TT is a hard advocate for conservation, but I wasn't aware of him ever bad-mouthing "good" organizations. Why does his podcast no longer exist?Many better options out there than 2TT. Just my $0.02
I still think it would be great to see you in a live debate. Not as fun with both sides agree 100% with each other. I'd break out the expensive popcorn for that! lolJust for clarity, 2TT is a different Tom than me.
@HoosierTort and I see eye to eye on these issues, and enjoy conversing at the TTPG conference every year. Well... now that I think about... I enjoy conversing with him. I may be assuming too much to think he also enjoys the conversations. HAHAHA!![]()
You’re one of the people I go to with the intention of pinning down and chatting for a good while, and never end up with enough time. Let’s do it this year! My barn should be up by the conference, so I can finally talk to you guys in the GTA. Until I had the permanent location for them, I didn’t want to even get my hopes up. Now I have several acres and a 30x65’ barn here soon. Gonna add a 20’x40’ greenhouse on one side as well.Just for clarity, 2TT is a different Tom than me.

He supports species like the Egyptian Tortoise being added to the ESA list, and any other animals deemed fit to be added. He doesn’t, IMO, give nearly enough credit to private keepers. Worst of all, when asked to show proof that listing any non-native species on the ESA has been beneficial, he gives a terabyte worth of data that all end up showing it has zero effect, but he still won’t admit it is a failed idea.Interesting take.
