Why is it that the skin near my tortoises head is some times really flat, and sometimes really puffy? I call them his air bags.

I notice that on a lot of Russians. I never notice it on mine, nor do I really notice it on other species.
I don't know why it is. Can you remember, is it only when you pick him up? Or any other things you can remember that might give a reason. Like after eating, after soaking, only while holding, etc.

I know that sometimes I am bloated and other days, as a woman...I am not...who the hell knows the moment by moment "whys"....as long as the overall tort is good....all is good.
