Rather than burrying the wood, I put pavers all around the inside perimeter of my enclosure. They will go up against something and dig. The pavers have stopped perimeter digging.

I also used pavers. They are inexpensive and don't rot. (I later found out that MY species of tortoise do not dig)o_O

Well I already built it but I'll still look into buying pavers if he tries to dig can someone send me a pic of a paver

Mm seems huge for a 1 yr old or is mine small mines a 1 yr old half that size you sure bout his age and welcome :)

We started building sunday so we'll probaly be done around saturday or sunday so I cant show you finished pics but wanna see some unfinished?
