Hello! so, is it true that i should put new soil every after 6 months? basically cleaning its enclosure. Because everyday I check for any poop laying around and toss it out and like every after around 2 weeks i make sure the soil is perfectly moist to their liking and clean their stuff in their enclosure ( changing the decorations n more so they dont get bored of it) but about the soil itself i want to make sure if i should change it every 6 months or?

No, you do not need to change it every 6 months. When I had my little one, I went a year maybe more, it was way back in 2011, before changing it. Spot clean daily, picking up poops and any food that has gotten on the substrate and it should last you a long time.

Oh boy...Here goes, now remember...this ain't FB...I have lived in Oregon for almost 18 years. I moved a sh*tload of turtles and tortoises with their equipment from California...Like Alex, I spot clean often, keep up the condition of the soil by adding fresh substrate, and have never completely changed any tort table...With my box turtles there's, oh heck, a colony of rollie pollies..lol...I'm losing my memory. In the box turtle tables there's worms and bugs and spiders living and feeding the box turtles. I would never, I hope, have to change that out. I have 4 tort tables in the house w/box turtles and 1 RedFoot containing a living substrate. But I go to some extent to spot clean. here's 3 of my small creep of box turtles100_2265.JPG
or 2...

First, soil should never be used as tortoise substrate. Its not safe and its also too messy. Read this for suitable substrate choices:

Second, I agree that there is no reason to replace the substrate if you are soaking the tortoise regularly, and spot cleaning the enclosure daily..
