Hi all,

I have been noticing that my baby red footed(3 months) excretion is sticky and vicious. Anybody experiencing the same issue?

I feed my tortoise vegetables such as endives and bak choy. I also feed them rep cal food.

Rep cal food? Do you mean you supplement the food with reptcal? He definitely needs more variety in his diet.

That fruity pebble colored food is made by repcal.

Haha! Thanks, I've always just called it fruity pebbles lol

To the OP, if you're going to feed an artificial diet type food, I would feed something that is a little more beneficial, like zoomed tortoise food or Mazuri. But these really should be used to supplement weeds and other greens.

My redfoot makes huge logs. Like, larger than her entire head/neck. They're a dark brown/green and kind of wet but not slimey and dry up quick so I assume they're as expected. I feed her greens, weeds, herbs, flowers, bell peppers, mushrooms, squash, various fruit depending on season/sugar content, and Mazuri. Maybe try adding more "real" foods and less processed ones. And if their poo doesn't firm up with that, maybe the vet should do a fecal check for parasites or something like coccidia.

They aren't as big around as her neck, but certainly in length... I call her a pooping rock.

Sometimes I am shocked at the size of poop that comes out of my tortoise.

Hi Dict:

What goes in is what comes out. Your tortoise needs more roughage in its diet.
