It's raining over here right now, and I was wondering if Cheerio will be able to go outside. I'm just wondering if tortoises like rain, or if it's too cold for them. Any idea?

Well, I opened all my tortoises' shed doors and so far the only ones to come out in the rain are the Aldabrans. But I'm sure eventually all of them will venture out, sniff around a minute, then go back into the warm shed.

Depends on the temperature and the species.

I agree. If the temps are warm enough, most tortoise do like being out in the rain. For some species it also gets them more interested in eating, in hunting (worms) and even in breeding.

In Oklahoma it will be 100 degrees and be raining. It feels refreshing to is and this year I'll allow my torts outside more so we will see how they like it. I think it might be a cool refreshment for them.

Raining and only 55 F as now.
Not consider taking any of my torts outsize unless over 75 F, rain or shine.

To add to that, my biggest female redfoot will ONLY lay eggs if it is or right after raining.
