Tortoise life substrate

Is the Mediterranean tortoise life substrate good and how often do you need to replace it ?

No it has pieces of calcium in it. This encourages your tortoise to eat the substrate which is NOT what you want to do.

Go to B&Q, Homebase, or your local garden centre and buy a bag of plain unadulterated fine grade orchid bark or some coco coir bricks and use those.

Both can also be bought from Amazon.

It is much cheaper to buy something that doesn't have a tortoise on the packet... and we fail to understand why manufacturers insist on adding stupid stuff like sand and calcium pieces to substrate for tortoises.
