Someone found this gopher tortoise. He had been hit. I went and picked him up and got him to a rehabber. She's sending him to the Jekyll Island Turtle Center.

Poor fella. Hope he survives. Good job you did getting him where he can hopefully get the care he needs.

They're tough as nails.
I'm betting he'll pull through.
I see them every now and then in scrub areas. But strangely enough, seldom dead in the road.
