It would probably be easiest to use papertowels soaked in warm water. It will be humid and clean . What city do u live in ?

I take my turtles and tortoises out a lot and in my experience paper towels or newspapers work best...they can do without humidity for that short of a time and it's better they stay dry so they aren't cold and wet...dry is best for a trip...

i usually just add dry peat moss which when it isnt wet will be easy to clean off allows them to feel succure and if they go potty it obsorbs the moisture, dry is best ive also used paper towls and spagnum moss if i have any left

Jojo, I had asked on another thread - can you post pics of Ninja's back feet and legs, and also tell me - when Ninja "mounted" your other boxie, was it a "propped up against the other turtle's back end" mount or "back feet hooked in the shell, mouth open, grunting and wheezing" mount?

I absolutely agree with Maggie. I would keep them dry for the long trip. If they are in anything wet or moist and it gets cold, they are in danger of a RI. Just MHO. If it's very warm out and would be warm for your 1 hr. trip, then I would keep them moist with the moss, wet with warm water and squeezed out, and fluffed up. But cold and wet is not good.
