How about this one. Its a very big mature tree. It think its a pretty commonly seen tree, I just don't know what it is or if the leaves are edible.

Sorry. I can't make that site work. I don't know what the botanical terms mean or how to answer some of the questions. Leaf bases, petioles, lobes and questions about the fruit or acorns... not sure how to answer some of those questions.

Funny. I suspect that if someone knew the answers to all those questions, they would probably also know the genus and species of the tree they were looking at too. :)

... looks like I'll be taking ANOTHER trip to the nursery... who knows what I'll come home with this time... (I mean in addition to answers...)
