so i'm in the market for a new 48" T8 10.0 uvb but i was only able to find a 32w fixture i know that they make 30w and 36w bulbs i was just wondering if like powersun's the wattage matters
I currently have 48 inch high output T5 fixtures. I got them from tortoise supply.com. They would probably have what you need. I don't really understand what the wattage means so I won't be much help with that I'm sorry. @Tom might be able to help.
The ballast (in the fixture) wattage and light tube wattage would need to be the same. Although I think that a 30 watt tube with a 32 watt fixture would be OK.
The watts of the bulb can't be more then the watt of the fixture, for anything, even house lamps, etc.
But the fixture can except a lower watt then the fixture says. Just not bigger watt.
