it is kind of small, it's 7'x7', but it's main use is to let her get sunlight without me having to be outside with her and follow her around the yard so that i don't lose her....!

and this is my little tula hiding under some monkey grass... all you can see is her little butt if you look closely enough... she's good!

Oh, I'm sorry I actually really enjoy building, gardening, and working outdoors so this project was a blast for me! Blame it on my dad, he's a kansas farmer boy who grew up to be a carpenter, and then had a little girl who idolized him...!

Really pretty, and skilled workmanship. Are you going to put in a permanent hide for her? I use one half of a small dog crate for Taco's outdoor hide. I just put new aspen chips down with timothy hay mounded on top for bedding and she was elbowing her way onto the pile before I even had a chance to replace the cover!!

Like Stephanie I was going to ask about a hide. Also about some protection from overhead predators. Do you feel she's safe enough? It's great looking...

oh, the hide...!! lol i'm such an idiot sometimes! i have a couple of hides inside in her favorite places i can just take one out there. i'm just laughing at myself right now! but i have seen her under the monkey grass and she's dug in under her rose bush before. i'm confident about overhead predators, tula's really heavy and she's 6 inches long, and really the only pests we have in this area are rabbits and the occasional crow. we're smack dab in the center of our housing edition, and i've never seen any raccoons or foxes or even opossums before. is it possible for her to be pecked at by a crow or something?
