Hey everyone. I have a baby tunisian tortoise that I've had for about 2 months now. I got feedback on his enclosure and changed his substrate and light. The temps are good and I spray one side of the tank heavily every other day as well as give him daily soaks. He has been eating and pooping, but I usually have to dig around and dig him up in order to get him to eat. I basically never see him above ground and after I soak and feed him he usually walks around a bit for a couple minutes and then burrows on the cold side of the enclosure. Is this normal? I thought I'd see him basking or roaming but I know they tend to hide alot when babies in nature. Is this something to be worried about? I feed him dandelion greens and bathe in warm dechlorinated water. Thanks 20250806_173156.jpg

Hello!
In your past thread you didn't answer about temperatures in the enclosure. Too hot or too cold and baby will be hiding more.

A water dish should be non-glazed for better traction and safety.

On the last photo the enclosure was a bit barren of hiding and shady spots - some potted leafy plants (like spider plants, carex, boston ferns) can give tortoise more sense of security and encourage him to explore.
