The hissing sound is normal when she pulls into her shell. Someone explained to me it was just exhalation of air from their noses when pulling into the shell. How deep does the shell fracture go? Can you see tissue?

We don't have a Wal-Mart near by.
I will get a better look at the shell fracture. I have been trying not to handle her too much. I want her to get used to seeing me and to feel safe before I touch her much. My torts are the opposite. They act like they want to be held every time they see me.

She seems to only want to eat worms. Is that okay or does she need veggies too? I have offerd lots of choices.
