If you want more than 1, get 2 more.

Pairs have different dynamics than a group. Since you know yours is female you could get a male and female to have a 1:2 group. That should do nicely.

Yep, I had two for a month and they would ram each other . A friend of mine gave me another one and now they get along like peas and carrots. I don't know why they did not like each other at first . It my have been the enclosure was to small . After a got all three set up in a large enclosure they went three different ways . But would sleep and eat together.

I added a second before I really knew that three is better. Luckily mine seem to get along great but they are still very young and I am going to have to watch them carefully until I get another. If I had known better I probably would have stuck with one! My advice would be stick with one unless you are willing and able to buy a third if they don't get along. They really are addictive, though!:) Good luck and enjoy!

Most people will say three is preferable, but two is fine if they get along well enough. Redfoots are one of the few species that seem to benefit from being in a small group.

Yes, possibly. One of the better choices for a social tortoise. In terms of breeding, the forest hingebacks seem to have had the most success when kept in pairs, even though they are not particularly sociable, they are very 'tolerable' of eachother.
