Yeah he does really like to climb things but I've built this enclosure and had it for a couple months and he hasn't gotten out of it at all, if he does I was planning to put some fencing above the wood. I'm not sure which bulbs I've had them for a while, but I know one is a UV bulb and the other a basking/heat lamp 100 watt. Do you have any bulb recommendations? He can easily get out of that. They can climb straight up a tree. I know, cuz mine did it. The planter pot and plants will make it an easy escape.
What kind of bulbs are you using. What are the actual temps and humidity?
Yeah hopefully! in his old enclosure he had escaped a couple times lol. and thank you for letting me know about the bulbs! I think I'll get a new UV bulb just in case.Really, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to get out. Maybe the sides are taller than they look in the pic. That's good though, hopefully he stays put.
If the UV bulb is a mercury vapor bulb, they are very drying on the shell and will cause pyramiding no matter how high the humidity. A tube florescent for uvb is best, the Arcadia makes the best one for UV. An incandescent flood bulb is good for basking.
