Hi!

I don't know if people remember Marley still, but he's still with us! He's about 9 months old now, and his shell measures about 3". He is very active and eats very very well. He recently started to half burrow himself, which is superrrr cute :) He has a big attitude.. which we find funny. But yup! I attached some pictures of Marley. They're a bit blurry because they were taken with a cell phone.. but once I get my camera from the car, I will upload more pictures.

So Marley's had problems with fungus and white hard excretions. His first fungus we got rid of and when we thought he got it again.. I was very sad. But what we thought was fungus on his shell.. it turned out to be the swirly white things! They are SO cute! I wish I coudl take a picture of that and post it up. Hahah why is it that they do that? As for white hard excretions, we took him to the vet once to get x-rays taken to check if he was okay. There was nothing inside of him that the x-ray could detect. Marley doesn't have hard white excretions anymore, but he does excrete whites occasionally. I almost feel like he excretes it too often.. and today I saw him excrete something brown, but it sort of seemed like a mix of pee and poo.

What do you recommend to stop him from excreting the whites? He is soaked daily, his food is soaked daily, his enclosure is humid.. what is it that he is missing? :T Thanks!

Tell me that Marley is cute! I'm in love with this little one <3 hahah
Oh and of course, any comments or concerns are more than welcome. How does his shell look?

YAY! Thanks! :) Good to hear that his shell looks good. I'll post closer and clearer pictures later when I get the chance to.

Any suggestions on how to decrease thea mount of the white excretions? :( I read somewhere that it is not good to excrete them often.

He's probably been saving them up for a while. Once he finally gets all cleaned out, he'll go to only a couple times a week with the "urates." Just keep him well-hydrated and he should be fine.

That's what I was thinking too Yvonne. But how long does it take for him to be all cleaned out? Its been going on for awhile. I'm probably just paranoid.. but yes, he is well-hydrated these days.

I've been enjoying seeing Marley dig these days. I came home one day and he made a mess of his enclosure digging around! But it's amazing :) He always burrows whenever he sleeps now. I wonder if he will attempt to tunnel?
