Update on this little girl. I've been rehabbing her all winter, but of course, her condition could take years before I see any progress.

I see some new growth lines, but those legs are still messed up from the mbd. Her previous owner does check in on her.

She'll never be able to be in a larger enclosure; atleast not now, but this is the safest option for her so she doesn't flip over. I want to add a little structure to help with strengthening those legs.

She needs a skateboard shaped piece of plastic to slide around on... or maybe one of those plastic furniture mover sliding circles - just to get that backend up a quarter of an inch. Can she move the back legs or are they just sort of there?.

They move, but they are bent upward. She gets around though.

Genuinely heartbreaking isn’t it! She’s one of the worst red foot’s I’ve seen in this condition💔
Two people going through a divorce pretty much just keeping her in a box until they remember her.

The lady still checks on and feels bad about it. I just hope things get better. When she reaches maturity, egg development will be a concern.

Has the tortoise been X-rayed? I just wonder how it looks.

That's how all four of the tortoise's legs were at Garden State (a couple years ago, it was one that had been kept on a linoleum floor for decades and only fed cat kibble)... its beak was so misshapen that it looked like a duck's bill. Its worth watching the YouTubes of - they brought her around enough to have her be in an outside enclosure. Might be some tips, I don't remember enough, just that they were able to help her a lot. I'm not at home right now, will look for a link to post later on or tomorrow.

I saw the rockalena series(think that's how you spell it). This is different. Her nails were overgrown and she was already an adult and developed when tooken from the wild. This tort has been neglected since it was a hatchling. So this isn't an easy fix, but a waiting game.
