Hi,

I am new to the forum. I have a horsefeild totoise called Torty (yes I know, orginal lol) and hes roughly around 2 1/2 years old.

He UV bulb went the other week. I have been travelling to my nearest garden centres and they have all been out of stock even though they promised to have ordered me one. I am just worried of how long its been so I am going to travel a little further hopefully tomorrow to see if I can find one. But hes been a week or maybe even a little longer with out it? Will he be okay :( I live in england so hes winter here so he can't even chill in the sun outside.

Thanks!

Being without a UVB bulb for a short length of time isn't going to hurt your tortoise. You can order them online, you know? If you order from Amazon it usually comes within a week. Here's the one I like:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002AQDJK/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20

But you'll have to go to YOUR Amazon. This one is for the U.S. Or maybe you don't have Amazon in England?

Amazon isn't the cheapest for reptile supplies in the UK. Try Swell Reptiles or OnlineReptileShop. Don't get the MVB's like the powesun. A year or two ago, they were good compared to options, but now with T5 tubes available we have much better options. Try and find an Arcadia t5 12% set up(with a reflector) or order their slimline luminaire which is available from Swell, and is all set up, just one wire in and you can switch it on!
