Just the radish leaves, aloe can cause the runs if fed too much so do limit it, romaine is perfectly safe don’t worry, it says moderation because lettuce in general doesn’t have high nutritional value, all of these need to be part of a varied diet.

Don’t suppose you can get this where you are? It’s SO good for getting more variety in! You soak each cube in a bit of water until mushy, then add it on top of the fresh stuff

Romaine could technically be fed daily but I would add more variety than that, let me see if I can dig out a rough diet plan someone on here came up with for Russians, hermans etc, @Alex and the Redfoot dont suppose you remember which thread I mean?

1. If it's a cut sheet, don't forget about panel thickness and saw blade width.
2. Are you planning to make sliding front doors?
3. What material do you plan to use? You may need a few "reinforcement" frame elements to prevent bending with foam PVC panels, for example.
4. You plan some cutouts in the top panel. Do you want to place lights on top? Not to fix them to the ceiling?

1. The joiner should know what to do
2. Not sliding doors just regular double door
3. Wood and the squares in the front and top should be clear acrylic
4. I want to fix them to the ceiling

Should i install the pond liner using stapler?

Do NOT put any staples in the lower parts of the pond liner because it will make it leak. Staples poke holes in it. Only staple in the upper areas, above the substrate.

It’s funny you ask, I’m actually currently on the look for new ones myself like this, want to add them in alongside our current monitors for some more readings, over time digital monitors can struggle giving spot on humidity levels, I think the calibration goes quicker than with the temperature, takes a good few years with the right kind, but I’m thinking it might be a bit over the average 5% leeway from eyeballing how the humidity steams the enclosure, so I’m curious what other monitor readings I can get. Not worried about the temperature though which is always most important.

I wish I could answer this better, but we use a different kind of monitoring, personally we use the exo terra combometers, these have had mixed reviews too, but in our experience over the years they’ve worked really well, when we only needed one I’d check it by putting it next to a different brand of monitor we used for our snake for a few hours, the readings always matched up within a degree or two/percent of one another. Now we have multiple we place them together and next to the other monitor, again all read within a degree or two of one another and give similar humidity levels, the temp gun readings tend to match within a few degrees too so I know they’re still running pretty accurately, it might even be the humidity is still reading accurate and I’m just getting paranoid. Still good to get back ups though

Either way I am curious on these digital monitors, as I’m currently looking through reviews myself I’m reluctant in recommending a certain one here, though I’ve seen quite a few people say they use the inkbird brand

This is not a blueprint. It is simply a drawing to illustrate the dimensions. A blueprint would include structural plans, usually a see-through version not quite assembled, but close enough to see inside and outside of the constructed item, and a projection of what the item will look like when fully put together.

I'm not a big fan of Xiaomi products - totally "hit or miss" situation as they source products from different vendors. But I haven't used this gauge so don't know if it's good or not.

Some degrees off is common for cheaper sensors (for higher grade too but they have a calibration function). However, it's not a problem for the tortoise enclosures. So any digital sensor should do the job.

If you want some more "bells and whistles" check smart sensors (e.g. from Govee or TP-Link). I put a simple very cheap sensor and a smart one from TP-Link in my terrariums. Plus Inkbird thermostats, I'm using, also display current probe temperature.

PVC enclosures;
- no damage possible from humidity
- easy to clean (wood is porous so hard to clean)
- lighter (easier to move around) (a wood 8x4 vivarium would be impossible to move around, here we say it would “weight as much as a dead donkey” )

Wooden enclosure:
- cheaper
- depends on the way it is built but the heat retention might be better
- I’ve seen people have their PVC enclosure become yellow because of the heat so I would say wood is a little safer when using high heat (wouldn’t be a problem for tortoises since the temps are relatively low)
- probably a little sturdier but if the PVC one is built correctly not by much

Pros for both:
- easy to modify with a few tools
- good heat retention
- good humidity retention

Probably other things that people will comment that I can’t think about right now.

I think the biggest con for wood is the fact that it can rot or even mold. Even when you try your best to protect it.
