Hi, I am going to upgrade my tortoises table to a similar design to the picture i included. I wont have any glass on mine, as from past experience ik my tortoise doesn't like being able to see out. i was wondering if i was to buy the Arcadia ProT5 kit would it be ok to attach it underneath the piece on the top that over hangs? I would then have a basking bulb in a similar way to the one in the picture. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think an Arcadia T5 would be the perfect way to go.
But at that distance, get their 6% and not the 12% T5HO UV tube.
(This would be 5.0 or 10.0 with other brands)
Thank you :) Do you happen to know the difference between these two items as they seem to say the same thing just without the pro but one is cheaper so i was wondering if they are a similar thing. https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/arcadia-prot5-kit-forest-6/ https://www.reptilecentre.com/arcadia-54w-forest--6-uvb-kit_p31607310.htm

That enclosure is way too small for what I think are three tortoises. I know you said your going to up grade it, but it needs too be so much bigger. A 4x8 foot is minimum for one. Hopefully you also have an outdoor enclosure too.

(@wellington saw the picture with what looks like 3 tortoises and thought it was yours. She didn't read that it was a picture you found to show the type of enclosure you are building)

The Arcadia pro series has a different fixture, but uses the same bulb. The main difference is the type of reflector. The pro series has a varied directional reflector which is designed to give good reflection and UVB levels below, but also a spread to the sides that gives a nice gradient for more "indirect basking" which many tortoises do naturally as UVB levels extend a few feet into the shade beneath plants, etc. I like this type of basking setup, but the design you are looking at places the light fairly low, so that benefit is not really going to come into play as much. You would probably be fine with either one with this setup and a 6.0% bulb.
