UVB lighting distance?

Well I'm about to order some Mercury Vapor UVB bulbs..Decided on T Rex as they are manufactured by Weston of Canada..Basically the same bulb as the Mega ray..

So not sure which to order..either the 160watt or the 275watt..My fixture are already hung on chains at 24" from the floor...With the big guys basking underneath..the top of there carapace is probably 14" from the bulb..

The 160watt bulb has a recommended distance of 18"..the 275watt bulb has a recommended distance of 24"...But what they don't say is is the distance measured from the bottom of the enclosure or the top of the carapace??

Also would a 275 watt mercury vapor bulb put out more light and heat than a 250 what heat lamp??

I have the 160watt and I keep it just about 18" above my enclosure (from the bottom of the enclosure) and at that distance it keeps the temp anywhere from 93-109 depending on the temps in the room. I really don't know about the heat lamp question though... sorry.
