Getting it right can be difficult....And relatively expensive.
But once you get things dialed in. The hobby is very rewarding and simple.
he seems to be happy and healthy, explores alot and eats constantly! hes so great ❤ I'll get those other bulbs tomorrow and lower them if I need too

Do you have a reflector in your fixture? I used the shiny metal tape on mine to help. Some of the reptile light fixtures come with them

no, I have under cabinet mounts to hold the bulbs. they ate really light weight and inexpensive
Just have to mount them lower. That is why I installed mine with wire so I could easily adjust up or down

I tested different distances and I just don't think the lights I have are any good anymore or strong enough. I will lower the fixture when I get the new bulbs tomorrow and test the output

Get either a SOLARMETER 6.5
Or a SOLARMETER 6.5R.
I got mine from Josh's Frogs for just under $200.
That price is pretty standard. Most any that you find are in that price range.
Thank you, @ZEROPILOT , for such fast responses! I'll have to save up a few pennies, but a UVB reader is TOTALLY worth it--esp since I'm in MN so my baby needs the artificial UVB a good chunk of the year!

I hesitated spending the money on a UV meter too.
Now I'm sorry I didn't buy it years ago.
My UV levels had been just guess work before.
Now that I have animals indoors (my Chameleons) that meter is a necessity. Not a luxury.
