UVB tube not working?

I bought a Repti glo UVB tube for my tortoises - we've just adopted them and the light that was in their enclosure looked old and was flickering (but did at least work). I've installed the new one but it won't switch on at all. Have checked all sockets, ensured the fixtures are on securely...it has just baffled me completely. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Take it back and get a new one, if it still doesn't work, get a new lamp probably.

If you got both new, take both back and have the people test it for you before purchase.

Have decided to go for an 'all-in-1' type, save buying the separate bulbs. Cheers.

I've only ever used the MVB for my tortoises. They work fantastic for my and my tortoises needs.

Here's one I made years ago. Closest inside is a CHE.
