Have an open top table for one adult Russian I have a compact uvb bulb that I want to get rid of I’m not sure I have the room to have a uvb tube can they be hung from a reptile lamp stand if not what are my options
An adult Russian needs lots of space. They are very active and love to dig and climb. A minimum floor area is 4'x8' (1.5x2.2 metres). That is more than enough space for tube UVB.
I am concerned that your enclosure is too small for an adult
I built a frame out of wood over my enclosure for tube UVB.
The alternative is to use a Mercury Vapour Bulb which provides both UVB and basking heat - you must hang the lamp holder for this from a lamp stand. Reptile lamp stands are easy to buy or, again, build you own.
Don’t trust clamp lamp holders. They’re a fire risk as they lose their grip easily.
The problem with MVB is that is stops giving off UVB very quickly - long before the bulb fails - and must be replaced every 6-9 months.
