We are in the middle of "Sprinter" right now in Wisconsin; I.e., one day it's spring, the next day it's winter, and some days it's both in the same day! This will be my first summer with Saturn, my Russian, and I can't wait to get him outside a few hours a day where he'll be so happy! I've heard that 70 degrees is the recommended temp. One day, it climbed to 68. I was tempted, but refrained. Any thoughts as to the right temp?

I don't put my leopard out until ground temps are 70'F and he is sheltered from any chilly winds. Russians may be OK at slightly less but if he's a baby I would probably err on the side of caution. A temp gun is great for checking ground temps. Can't wait for warmer weather here.

I hear ya about this crazy weather we are having. It's here in Chicago too, but you probably have had more snow and cold then here.
Adult Russians can handle colder temps. I already had mine out. If the sun is out and it's in the mid 60's it's usually warmer sitting in the sun and I would put him out for a few hours. Just make sure he always has sun to get into and also shade.

If its in the 60's, sunny, dry and not too windy, your russian should be good to go. Heck, mid to high 50s would be okay for an adult russian under those conditions.

Use an infrared temp gun to check ground temps and carapace temps in the sun. You might be pleasantly surprised at how warm it is. UV rays will be strongest mid day.

Oh I know! Here in SoCal we are having water fall from the sky! I've heard about this phenomenon before. I had to buy a gadget called an umbrella! People on the roads are acting like its the end of the world

Thanks everyone for the replies! Last Saturday, it literally alternated between snow and sun several times during an hour, no lie.I woke up to snow this morning, which of course has already melted. Crazy...

We have mid 80,s all day and then it drops down to mid 40,s at night ! so we have the air on all day , and the furnace at night ! Speedy gets out most every day , but I bring him inside at night . Just that time of year I guess !

Yesterday we had 27 C. And today it is only 12 C. So it is pretty crazy. But we are not used to temps over 20 C in April. I guess I'll wait for a week or two :).
