Want to know more about shell rot?

I want to know how a tortoise can get shell rot? How it looks? If there is any symptoms?

My tortoise doesn't have it, just want to know about it!

shell rot is caused by being kept to wet yes certain species need high humidity but the top layer still needs to be dry

there's no symptoms besides the visual that i know of, you'll have to look up how it looks
