Hello,

I will be travelling for 2 weeks and with that I will leave my tortoise with a caretaker who got many other tortoises of the same kind as mine, so in order to distinguish my boy from the rest what is OK to put on him that will not be painful or hurtful in any way?

Try nail polish on the scute just not near a growth line

marking with nail polish?

is it safe to mark your tortoise with a small amount of nail polish to make telling them apart easier and more accurate for weighing ect.

Your tort should not be mixed in with the other torts. A quarantine period is always recommended when new tortoises are brought into other torts.
Your caretaker should be keeping yours totally seperate.

What Barb said. There should be no mixing of tortoises and no sharing of space, bowls, utensils or enclosures. There should be no contact between your tortoise and the others.
