Hi! I just wanted to post a quick update after a long period of inactivity (close to a yr I think). Steve the desert tortoise is happy and healthy and spending his 2nd winter indoors. After a smooth summer, Steve has jumped up to over 100 grams and is almost 5 in long (head to tail). His plastron hardened up nicely and he's always quick to eat, drink and run around like the mad little dinosaur that he is! Huge thanks again to everyone on the forum for all the wonderful advice during that rough 1st year. Here's a picture of the little guy back inside for the winter:
