What is on their tail?..

Ok I am freaking out my hermann tortoise is over a year old and his ( think its a boy ) tail has white on the end and its hard ish...I was my hermann 2 times a week I have the right heat and uvb as i got the information here for what I need but what the hell is this ...ill attach a photo

Oh thank god I was in such a panic because some people are telling me its a rotted infection and so on...which had me confused as its my first reptile

I'm still new to tortoises, but I suspect some keepers with more experience will chime in soon. Until then, I think you can rest easy.

Could it just be a lump of urate stuck to his tail spur ?

I agree, doesn't look normal to me and a spur developing, but then I never seen one develop
