That is a jade plant - edible. (crassula ovata) It is not purslane, which is high in oxalates and shouldn't be fed very often.

Oh good so it will be find for my hermann to have a munch on? Just wanted to double check. He's a right fussy eater so I'm trying anything

It's ok :) if I were you if leave it to grow for a while (so you will have a supply... It's up to you

I don't have any of those :(
It's completely edible and good to feed a lot of, as it has good nutrient levels.
