A friend of mine recently gave me her turtle and I was wondering what kind of turtle this is. Not sure if its a boy or girl. Its been in an 20 gallon aquarium for 15 years so it didn't know how to react to my other ones that are outside but they seem fine together.

Yep, three toed box turtle. Looks like a female. Overgrown beak. Glad to hear she's outside now. What are the "other ones"?

The other 6 are three toed and 1 russian but this one looked different because of the beak. There's also a small sulcata in there.

I keep all 8 of the box turtles in one but the small sulcata is in there temporarily because his is being worked on. I had to relocate his.

it's longer because the beak is overgrown....probably from poor nutrition..eating soft food and not having anything in the habitat for her to use to file it down herself...now that it is this bad, you will have to file if for her..or take her to the vet and they can do it....it the meantime feed her on a flat stone and give her a cuttlebone to gnaw on....:tort:

wow she looks dry, definatly a ttbt id soak her extra, she needs her beak trimmed this was caused by poor husbandry... id get her to a vet or someone experianced with using a dremmel to trim it down as its a bit beyond the DIY for the first time length IMO
