I posted this in the Pancake forums. But I thought I would post it here also to see what you guys thought.

I am new to the forums when I logged in I noticed it had over 2 years since I last logged in...

Anyways my question for you guys is should I get a Pancake or a Redfoot? In about 3 weeks I will be picking up some Halmahera skinks and the gentleman that I am getting them from has wild caught Pancakes and captive born Redfoots for sale. Which should I get and why?

Before anyone can answer this, we need to know what kind of setup you have planned for your tortoise. Where, approximately, do you live, as this is also a huge factor in the best tortoise for each individual.

As for the setup I will do what needs to be done for either tortoise. I live in Portland, Oregon.

I would suggest the redfoot because being cb there is less likelyhood of a parasite load and stress than with a wild caught animal. Are the Halmaheras captive bred ? If not I would strongly suggest a vet check.

Yes, the Halmaheras are captive breed.
