I’m seriously considering making a wheelchair for Philip as his back legs drag. Vet says they will never weight bare.

I’ve see. Lots of videos of Lego wheelchairs and that’s exactly what hewn needs..... but.....

What do they use to stick them on with??

Has he always done that?
I ask because I once had a VERY sick tortoise once and she stopped walking. Her legs couldn't support her weight and she drug her back legs.
Eventually she did get use of her rear legs. But it too some time.

We’ve only had Philip about a month, and he hasn’t used them in that time .

He was rescued by the rspca apparently before hand, but I’m still waiting for info from them..... he certainly wasn’t well when we got him and has been treated for dehydration. Uric acid was sky high and high white blood cell count.

How long did it take before she used her legs again ??

A few months in total.
I tried hydrotherapy at the suggestion of a TFO member.
I half filled one of my sinks with warm water and let her float/swim for an hour. Twice a day.
I was also feeding her through an esophogostamy tube at that time.
I fed her, than gave her exercise.
She moved her legs in the water quickly. But the legs remained too weak to support her weight for a few months.
She was 18 lbs.

Often they lose use of the back legs with MBD. In time, with the correct diet and conditions, the bones will re-calcify, and the tortoise might walk again.

MBD or being raised on a poor substrate either paper or a glass bottom. To answer your question I believe they use an epoxy.
