Hi all — looking for some reassurances that this is the normal kind of urates? We have never observed them from our tort before and are now seeing them in most soaks. What causes urates? When are they problematic?

Looks like normal urates to me. Are you soaking the animal daily? If so, I would not expect to see urates passed daily, but that is not always the case.

I would recommend daily soaks if you are not doing them already.

My leopards, since 2011 has never pasted urates. Soak daily. They are not ones to pass urates very often if at all.
