I have no idea what it is.

It's always on the left side too.

Only thing I can think of is the water in the humidifier...but why would it only only affect the left side of the shell?

He sleeps with this left towards the opening of the humid hide (which is where the mist would enter), but other than that, I have no idea.

I've had his closed enclosure in 84%+ humidity for about 3 months now...with temps around 85F.

Thoughts?

Hard to say from a pic. Could be any number of things from nothing, to fungus, water deposits, dry shell.. Does it wash off with gentle scrubbing?

It looks more like scrapes to me, rather than water spots. I think the tortoise is scraping its shell on something.

I think Yvonne is right . Looks like he has been scratching on something . I thought Dozer had water spots on the front of his shell . It turns out he was rubbing it on his hide . So I made him one out of 12 "pvc pipe cut in half and rounded of the edge .

Oh you guys are totally right. He does scrape against his humid hide when he wants to go towards the very end end of it. Thanks.
