Why is my tortoise making noise?

I got my sulcata three days ago, and today it dunked its head into its water bowl and when its head came back up, it looked at me and squawked twice. The noise sounds like when someone is walking in wet or unfitting shoes. Later when I came home from the store, it squawked three more times. Anyone know why It's doing this? I've never heard of one making noises besides for mating.

When they've been drinking, all sorts of strange grunts happen as they clear their airways. Nothing to be concerned about.

Was it the beak rubbing? I have had torts that do that, including my sulcata. My chacos did it to get my attention, not sure if it is a normal communication or they just learned I would respond. Either way, they trained me well.
