wild moss?

I found some moss growing by my house and i'm not sure what type it is, does anyone know if my hermann tortoise could eat? Are there any types of moss that are toxic and shouldn't be kept in his enclosure? Thanks in advance

I don't know of any toxic mosses personally. Some people don't recommend feeding moss, or putting it in the enclosure because of a possible risk of impaction.
I personally use short moss in my enclosure and have had no problems, my torts poop gets inspected daily to make sure everything is getting broke down.
I recommend posting a picture of the moss and listen to other peoples opinions before deciding.
