I found this stuff at the hardware store for 75% off. I'm still learning to be a tortoise flower botanist and I'll be looking it up when I get home but I wanted to see if anything jumped out as a danger. I didn't buy it yet just in case.
Off the top of my head I was thinking larkspur is a no no.

So I came home and did my research and here's what I found:

Okay Flowers (Okay, Moderately Okay and Feed Sparingly)
  • Bachelor Button
  • California Poppy
  • Baby's Breath
  • Coreopsis
  • Cosmos
  • Chines Forget Me Not
  • Sweet Alysum
  • Sweet William
  • Annual Mallow
  • Purple Coneflower (Echinacea)
  • Money Plant
  • Clarkia
  • Shasta Daisy
  • Straw Flower
  • Gayfeather
Do Not Feed List
  • Rocket Larkspur
  • African Daisy
  • Corn Poppy (common poppy)
  • Prairie Coneflower
  • Black Eyed Susan
  • Blue Flax
  • Annual Lupine
  • Scarlet Flax
  • Columbine
  • White Yarrow
  • Catchfly (Bladderwort)
I couldn't find info on
  • Indian Blanket
  • Godeta
With that being broken down, is it worth the $4 to spread it in the back pasture where the tortoises don't have access so we have flowers next spring? It will supposedly cover 600sq feet and I could pick out/just enjoy looking at the toxic things, but at the same time I don't want to risk accidentally giving them something dangerous. What would you do?
