Sprinkles, my Boxie, was wandering around just a few minutes ago while I was outside with the tortoises.

So, I re-filled her water "dish"---

And rounded up some worms for her! Does anybody know what type the small grey fat ones are?-- She ignored all the Earth Worms for them!

Also, I noticed that one of her back toe nails is long. Should I just leave it, or is it recommended to trim it?

I'm not sure, but if they're not maggots, then they might be cut worms. The female's back toenails are usually a little on the long side for digging a nest. If you want to trim a bit off the tip, it would be ok.

I am almost positive they are cutworms, I see them in my yard often, the boxies and RF's love them.

I actually don't find these in the grass, but in the rabbit dropping pile under the rabbit hutches (along with the Earth Worms!). I saw Sprinkles digging in that area one day to find food, so SHE showed ME where to get them. :D
