Worries about predators

This is my first full summer with my 5 inch Russian tortoise I am worried about predators in my area. I can take him inside at night but during the day I am worried about crows, and hawks. Another unrelated worried is that were I live it can get up to a feels like of 105f in the summer on a really hot day? Thanks in advance.

Birds won't mess with a 5 inch tortoise, but your dog will.

Underground shelters help avoid the heat, as does deep shade, sprinklers and misters.

The tortoise should have an insulated shelter with temperature controls for night time and for rain and inclement weather. Read the thread at the end to see how to do this.

There may be other people's dogs or other predators.
I really like the idea of the large cage for outdoors.

It might seem unnecessary to have a space that is tall enough for you to stand up in, but its really tiresome and hard on your back if you have to be bent over while cleaning or changing water, etc.

Sorry I did not mean to be rude I was in a hurry. I like the idea of the dog kennel. I was thinking of doing something similar but with lattice wood.
