This is Siddhartha (Sid) I purchased him/her in early June of last year. He weighted about 50 grams at the time. By January 1 he weighted 70g. Now on February 3 his weight is a little over 100g. He is growing very rapidly now. I fed him various weeds, succulent and diced cactus pads at first. Over the last couple of months he has been eating diced cactus with soaked Mazuri and lettuce sprayed with a vitamin mix. I am maintaining humidity at 80-90% at temps of 80-90F day and 70-80 night. My question is does his shell development appear normal and can I expect what appears to be exponential growth to go on from now until adulthood or will it be more sporadic?

I noticed with the hatchlings I hatched that growth was slow at first. Then once they started showing noticeable growth it went much faster.
As long as he keeps gaining everything is good. He looks very good too.

Congrats on a healthy, happy and rapidly growing youngster.

He looks great! In my experience they grow pretty quickly that first year, then the growth slows a little. Here's a picture of Leonard, hatched in March of last year, next to a brand new hatchling. The picture was taken when Leonard was about 6 months old.

Siddhartha (Sid) at 4 years - Normal Growth?
Today he was measured at just shy of 15 inches at a weight of 20.25 lbs. From what I gather this is rather large for a 4 year old, right? Does anyone have an opinion on the he/she question?

beautiful tort!

My male is 10 years old, 17" and 25lbs. Plus he has the concave plastron.

I'd suggest you have a female based on those comparisons.
