His enclosure is just a dog cage in the yard because there's so many acres of land I would just move it around because I just recently moved to the house I'm at now and there's just so much land I haven't had time to make him a home but we were in the process of it we had to get rid of the ants first but we didn't even get that far before he was gone I always called him by his name but he didn't seem too responsive to it so I don't know if I'll call him and he will come but I will try
He's home HE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A neighbor found him 3miles down the road in there barn covered in cobwebs and dirt...he's safe!! They said if it wasn't for my lost posters they would of never known he was so special and would of put him back in the forest...I cried happy tears for about an hour.... my baby's home and this will never happen again!
Wow congrats!! Over a month missing, that's amazing! My 1 yr sulcata disappeared for a few days last month, although there's no way for him to get out of the yard so he was just hiding REALLY good. It's a bad feeling when you can't find a pet, glad it worked out!
Wow, three miles. That sort of gives some perspective for when other people lose track of their tortoises. Which direction did he go? East, West, North, South? We're there natural features that might have encouraged him in that direction? Any roads or streams?
I am so happy you got him back. 3 miles away from home - he really did travel far for such a little guy. Thank goodness the people saw your posters and found him in their barn.
I told you these guys can travel! You must tell us what direction did he take. Was there a stream, wooded area, ponds, or anything that would have caused him to go that way? You really need to share that with us so that it may give others who lost their torts a direction to seek their lost baby.
WOOOHOOO!!!!!!! So glad to hear this I've been thinking about him off and on and sending positive vibes. Thank you for keeping is updated. This is definitely awesome news
Thanks everyone...as far as direction I'll get back to u later today on that...and when he got out he's basically been in the forest...there's everything out here lakes cow pastures not the typical neighbor hood defiantly a torts paradise ...there was a lot of odds against him too out here lots of animals that could of hurt him some storms and flooding...he does look like he grew! And when I got him home I gave him allllllll the food he could eat..he pooped a really good healthy big poop so I know he was eating good and all of his pee was clear no white so he must of been getting water...I know he had to travel around a lake to get where he was...he really showed me he could survive out here in the wild forest for a1yr old tort
He did go deeper in the forest took a turn the he did go in the direction of the beginning neighborhood a little further like half a mile and he would of been near paved roads...so super scary ...I think once he got stuck in the barn he was there for a few days
