My tortoise won't eat!

So my Russian Tortoise won't eat anything I give him besides Romaine Lettuce. It couldn't be due to hibernation because he's active as ever and, well, it's June. How can I help this?

I see you've made 15 posts, so you may have given us some info about your tortoise and husbandry, but I don't have time to go back and look for those posts. If you'll tell us a little bit about your husbandry - lights, heat, temperatures, indoors or outside, what foods you're offering, how long you've had him, etc. we'll be better able to give you some good answers.

I will say, though, that the majority of the time when a tortoise isn't eating, it's because he's not warm enough.

Romaine is yummy...simple as that. If the tort is eating a good amount of the romaine but snubs other types of food...he likely is just hooked on the yummy stuff....does this tortoise get outside time each day in a secure place where he can graze on other items?

Not constantly, but now that summer's here (as of yesterday for me) he certainly will be!

Just keep introducing other things to him. He will eventually figure it out.

He's eating,but only romaine?
Feed other foods that is life giving a kid a plate of Chocolate.

Mix with other leaves and chop finely. Serve wet. Then the little horror won't be able to pick out the bits he likes best. Gradually change the proportions until the mix contains more of the good stuff.

If he decides to go on hunger strike for a while it will do no harm. He'll eat when he's hungry. You just have to stick to your guns.

Soak daily to maintain hydration while food is being refused.
