Just saw this guy at Petsmart… What kind of tortoise is he? The tag said Russian, Hermann, or Greek. Absolutely no humidity for him...I want him but hubby isn't going for it.

Petsmart animals don't have a great reputation and are mostly wild caught and have issues.
Have hubby buy you a nice shelled bundle of joy from any of our members here that raise their own torts.

Me too. This is why I can never go to any kind of pet store or pet adoption. Those little faces haunt me.

It's so hard to know what to do in that situation. Logically, saving/purchasing the tortoise just guarantees Petsmart will endanger yet another poor animal. Yet, your heart goes out to the little guy.

My last inexpensive tortoise has since cost over $1,300 in vet bills and climbing.

This is exactly how I ended up with Russians as well as Leopards. My husband regrets giving in on the 1st 2. I now have 4 and keep trying to talk him into 2 or 3 more.
