I've been giving my leopard tortoise 1 small tomato every couple/few days. He loves them so much. My question, is he a loud to eat that many? Is it bad in anyway for em?

No, you should not feed them, specially that often, they area it good for them. Any negitive effects may not be noticeable for some time, when it's too late. If you have to feed them, cuz some people just think they do, no more then one a month, but even better not at all.

Prob 5 tomatoes past 2 weeks

Oh, for God's sake, a small grape tomato is not going to hurt your leopard tortoise if fed sparingly. If the diet is basically vegetative and fibrous in nature overall, go ahead and give him the little treat you are providing. This forum gets carried away with doctrinaire information that is not borne out by experience over long time. Enjoy your relationship with this little creature you love and are providing nurturing care for. And make sure you are providing calcium supplemention with the tomatoes which are too heavy in phosphorus. Tomatoes offer many beneficial vitamins and minerals. They can be offered occasionally. And they also help hydrate.
Pretty little leopard BTW.

Herbivore tortoises should not eat fruit (tomatoes are fruit )short term it can cause intestoona problems (parasite blooms ) long term causes organ damage shortening life span. Delusional rants against so called doctrine notwithstanding. Many vet experiences testify to this compared to imaginary keeper experience stating otherwise. One tomato a week won't hurt.

I see fruit as candy for children. It's not really good for them, but a little now and then is not going to kill them.

I am not going to tell you not to do something I myself do and have done for years. (as you would see a carton of grape tomatoes scattered all around the large sulcatas' enclosure at this time. In the same breath, you will not find it on any listing of foods I might give out. I do however try to limit the frequency and amount of tomatoes, while also scaling those amounts according to species and the animal's size. I agree at lot with the not feeding fruit to certain tortoises, but always also wonder if there is really never any fruit found in the native areas.

Can you provide evidence that fruit causes organ damage and shortened lifespan? For our purposes here, I think you would need to show that it does the above in limited quantities. This forum does not understand nuance; there's a difference between letting a tortoise gorge itself on fruit and offering an occasional treat.

If you DO feed the occasional Cherry or Grape tomato, I recommend feeding them whole. It's funny watching them bite one and seeing it explode everywhere.
I ripped a relatively big tomato in half and offered each half to two different turtles so they each had half a tomato. One's tomato half flipped so the ripped open side was face down and the intact skin was the only part accessible. It was HILARIOUS watching him get confused and frustrated as he tried to bite it as hard as possible but it just scooted forward since it was so perfectly ripe that his beak just pushed it as he tried to bite it. He even tried smashing it with his foot at one point and his foot just slid right off. The look on his face....was one of pure unadulterated fury. I'm surprised he wasn't shaking with steam blowing out of his "ears".
After having a good laugh, I flipped it over for him. The raw voraciousness of which he tore that tomato apart before consuming it made quite a mess. I think completely destroying it before starting to eat it made him feel better. I've never seen a box turtle destroy something with so much energy and gusto. His one track mind of decimating this poor tomato was unlike anything I've witnessed before, real life and internet videos. He hasn't done it again, but I contemplate recreating the situation again next month.

What sort of evidence do you reqiire lab reports studies
I have first hand stories from vets who have sern first hand tortoises who have it from years and decades of high fruit diets. If you need more i have none but that is enough for me.
