I bought 3 prickly pears (fruit) today at a Asian family ran produce store. They were 3 for $2. Sometimes those corner produce stores have some cool finds.

I am unsure if this is the correct place to post this, so if it is not, I apologize in advance.

Do y'all have like turtle/tortoise care-package trading?

For instance, I live in the southwest, and prickly pears grow wild in my backyard, but moss and mushrooms don't.. whereas, someone in a more humid, forest-y area has access to moss but not prickly pears. So, you could have like a list/group of people to send little treats to for their turtle/tortoise?

Just asking.
I would love some cactus for my gal,,,I've been trying to purchase online. I'd be willing to pay you for some. It's pretty cold here I do have moss but it's sad looking right now.

I would love to get some of your rose of Sharon, I'll pay for shipping. I could look for prickly pear. Do you want to plant it?

I would like some rose of Sharon, especially if it could be replanted. The problem with cactus fruit, is it is not the season. When the time comes, I could send you as much as you are willing to pay shipping for.

I'm thinking about growing some spineless cactus in California, since it's so easy to grow here. Is there anyone who would like to trade cactus pads for other types of sulcata tortoise friendly plants?

I would trade mulberry leaves for cactus pads. Anyone interested? I can ship. We should get this thread going again. I think it's a wonderful idea!

I have a bunch of broad leaf plantain seeds. They aren't dry yet and I've never planted any before but I would trade them for other tortoise friendly plants if anyone's interested. I also just harvested a bunch of snapdragon seeds.

Do you want anything else for those broad leaf seeds. Banna plant leaves or hibiscus leaves

It's about that time again. I have plenty of hibiscus seeds if anyone would like some. Their just the hardy hibiscus. White and pink blooms about the size of your hand is what they produce. My plants are around 5' tall and produce entry of leaves. I have already got a half quart size ziplock bag of seeds and plenty more seed pods to pull off so just PM if you would like me to mail ya some.

I was going to add, I'm in planting zone 6 and these come back every year on their own. I don't give them any type of special care. I cut down after first frost.

Is there anyone else interested in trading anything? Us tortoise people here in the Midwest will be bombarded with freezing weather in a few months and we're stocking up on tortoise food.:)

I will be cutting down my banana trees soon, I will have plenty of leaves. I am experimenting with freezing and dehydrating some now but if anyone is interested I can send same day as I cut down so their as fresh as possible.
