Going to the vet

My husband is really worried about Jacques because he saw her swimming lopsided this morning.
We have an appointment tomorrow, Tuesday, January 30 at 3:45 pm with Dr. Gregory Rich in Metairie (a close suburb of New Orleans).
We’ve never been to him before, but he’s in the TFO veterinarian list. I understand from my vet that he has an excellent reputation and is long established as the go-to guy for reptiles and other exotics.

After we see him tomorrow, I will post details of the appointment!!!!

Good luck! X rays will show anything existing in the lungs. Once the problem is identified its super easy to treat!

We are very fortunate to have quality vets available. Jacques is very fortunate to have quality caretakers. I hope they find the problem quickly and that it is easy to cure. Jacques is such a cute little thing.

I feel really good about going.
For me, the best outcome would be for the vet to hear the saga, check her over, then roll his eyes and call me a worry-wort!!!! Of course, no vet would ever do that!!!! [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]

When the vet floated her in a tub of water, she was DEFINITELY lop-sided: her right shoulder was lower in the water than the rest of her. He took a blood count, and her white blood cells were VERY high, so she definitely has an infection, probably in her lung.
She is admitted to their hospital for the next week. They will give her injections of antibiotics each day and will tube feed her. I don’t remember the name of the anti biotic- I was too shook up after hearing how bad her blood levels were.

More details tomorrow.
