Great idea.
The "cheap" plexi that I opted for is the type that likes to crack easily.

Secretly I'll be using a hole saw near the edge. Then I'm going to trim off the plexi that hangs over the sides. Creating a semi circular hole.
But don't tell anyone that I'm using tools.

I wonder if the plexi would stick to the iron?
We don't have one anyway. My wife has super curly hair. But I do have a heat gun. That would work for creating a hump.
For now I've glued the cord flat to the lid. The tape is holding it while it dries.
I also silicone glued the gauge in there.
It should be operational tomorrow.

Nice posting but you should change the aquarium size to no smaller then a 20 long. A 10 gallon is really too small even for a hatchling. With all the added accessories there is not enough room for proper exercise. With improper room you end up with a tortoise like the one I had to rescue and rehabilitate cuz he couldn't walk only scute.

Actually you're correct.
He's only been able to walk for a few weeks.
He's going to soon go into a blue, Plastic Kiddie Pool in the back sunroom as soon as I'm convinced he won't try to eat the Orchid bark.
The pool can be drug out onto the patio for some sun. And from there he will go to an outdoors enclosure. Maybe, hopefully with my other 4 Redfoot or he can be re homed as a healthy little man.
Then I'll probably slip this into the garage until I get more eggs.
Hopefully that'll be never.

LOL! Too funny! Opposite at my house! I'm always out in the garage building things fir my turtles and tortoises either before my husband gets home from work or late at night while he's sleeping! I try my best to put things back so he doesn't notice, but sometimes I get busted! But he does know me. For my retirement present he bought me a table saw!

Curling iron- just press against edge until a small notch melts. Quietly put back in drawer and don't tell the wife. Still not a tool!
